How to add texture to a repaired wall?

I just patched the wall and still need to paint how can I add texture to make it look like the rest of the wall? How to add texture to a repaired wall?
Is it like rough, bumpy texture? I don't know what kind of texture but if it's the rough , bumpy kind you can use a brush and smoosh just the bristles up against the wet paint. They have special brushes for those too but that is more expensive. If it's not bumpy and so forth you can use a sponge for some texture. How to add texture to a repaired wall?
use your drywall mud and either a sponge or an old carbrush, try it on a extra piece of drywall first to make sure you like the texture first
there are many types of texture, if it is a splatter or knock-down, it is usually ';blown'; with a compressor and hopper (they can be rented). then there is stomped; and stomped knocked-down--the knock down is done by skimming a wide blade over the top of the texture after it has set up a while, but not dried completely. then there is drag, Spanish drag, skip-trowel, and about 1,000 others.

without seeing it i cannot tell you how to do it, your best bet would be to ask someone at your paint store how to match it, describe it to them or take a Polaroid or digital shot of it and show them a picture...they can tell you what it is called and how to match it.
use a thick nap roller
depending on the area u patched. one trick is to add the texture to your paint and put on spot you repaired using a roller. dont be shy with the texture and dont over roll or it will come off and stick to your roller. let it dry and visiually inspect to see if it blended in, if not apply a second coat. dont worry about the paint because new sheetrock and repairs need 2 coats of paint. if u are happy then repaint the whole wall or room. most harware stores have texture. only mix enough in paint to cover your repair. dont waste your paint.
There is a product that comes in a spray can for that purpose..

It dries with a texture that blends in with the surrounding paint.

Ca'nt remember name, might have seen it in home ctr.

Already finished painting .

Wish I had seen it sooner...next time.
