How can you apply texture to a repaired interior plaster wall with a spray applicator so it matches?

I'm able to create a bumpy surface that looks fine except my wall isn't just nothing but small bumps. Instead it has small bumps with roughly 50% of the bumps appearing to have been smoothed flat. How can I duplicate this? ThxHow can you apply texture to a repaired interior plaster wall with a spray applicator so it matches?
This could be a ';skip trowel'; finish. But if you are able to get the small bumps right (thats the hard part) simply let it dry a little, then use a 12'; knife with very light touch to smooth over it. Practice, you can always scrape it off till you get it right.

Best o Luck
