I am using Obagi vitamin C serum already, but I would like to know about other products that improve skin tone and texture as well. Does anyone know of a great facial sunscreen that wont clog pores as well ? ThanksWhat products should I use to improve skin tone and texture?
Beauticontrol. They have great products and the cleanser is so light. Its amazing. What products should I use to improve skin tone and texture?
Depending on your specific skin care needs, I'd suggest one of the philosophy kits:

http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hier鈥?/a>
Proactive is gud it gets rid of acne, cleans, pore, clears skin, tones skin and much more.......jus search proactive on google.com
If you're going to use foundation...make sure you use one that is oil free so you don't cause yourself more blemishes.
Arbonne International has a great product line. It's all completely pure, safe, and beneficial. It's one of the few lines recommended by the american modeling association. It's also the choice make-up and skin care line of Dr. Phils wife.

let me know if your interested in purchasing some.
you can use good foundation, just don't put too much on your face! There are different colours of foundations, so be careful about which one you pick... I suggest you try them on your finger or something before you by the product.. Always a great thing to do...
I tried a couple products that can enhance skin tone and it's here:

1. Fancl Whitening Essence: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio鈥?/a>

2. Shiseido The Skincare:

For texture, that's more related to scrubbing your skin and adding moisture to it. And you could check out some recommedations here: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio鈥?/a>

For sunscreen, I personally like Avene's, not sure you can get it somewhere, information at: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio鈥?/a>

  • What type of sanding machine is recommended for removing ceiling texture? And what grit of sandpaper is best?

It is not as bad as ';popcorn'; texture but it is still a problem? What type of sanding machine is recommended for removing ceiling texture? And what grit of sandpaper is best?
you can unsually just wet the texture with a spray bottle with some fabric softner in it. let it sit for a few minutes, then scrape it off with a large drywall tool. this way, the dampness loosens the texture and cuts down on the dust. you should be sure to ';seal'; the room off from other rooms by taping around doors and sealing AC and heating vents. open a window for airflow! What type of sanding machine is recommended for removing ceiling texture? And what grit of sandpaper is best?
Take a big bottle of warm water and soak the ceiling gently, then with a wide scraper gently scrape the top layers off, it works well, we've used this technique for years, no ';sanders'; are required.
Let me add to Onegirls answer. The big box stores sell the wide scraper with a bag attachment to catch the scrapings. You could probably figure out how to make it your self. If you keep the ceiling damp and catch most of the scrapings, extra dust will be minimized.

Why was my hair texture different when I went to a colder climate?

My hair is curly and it is melting hot in mexico but when I went to the states....all of the sudden it was straightish?

Is that normal? Why does this occur? Why was my hair texture different when I went to a colder climate?
The amount of humidity in the air affects hair. Why was my hair texture different when I went to a colder climate?
When it's more humid hair tends to curl, but the lack of humidity makes hair straighter.

What, if anything, is the difference between ';mouth feel'; and texture in regards to food?

They have to be at least nearly the same thing, yet the two terms appear independently on some food network shows. The easy answer is that they are synonymous, but any subtle differentiation would be welcome. What, if anything, is the difference between ';mouth feel'; and texture in regards to food?
Perhaps mouth feel would pertain to heaviness or lightness on the tongue which is a bit different than texture. (Just a theory) ;)

Is it hard to paint over a wall with a texture surface?

We recently purchase a home 3 yrs agao. the builder sprayed a white texture on all the wall. is it hard to paint over it?Is it hard to paint over a wall with a texture surface?
It is more difficult than painting a flat wall, but they make special deep nap rollers just for that purpose.

Like any painting job, you will need to use a brush for trim and corners.

You can also use a sprayer instead of a roller...Is it hard to paint over a wall with a texture surface?
it depends on the type of texture if it a popcorn texture then yes it going to suck to paint that if it is not that kind of text more flat kind but riged then not but takes more coughts
Lightly run your hand across the wall and if any of the texture becomes dislodged then painting over it with a roller and brushes will be a pain. Most likely a wall texture is ';knock down'; and thus will not come off when brushed by the hand, furniture or occupants. I recommend using a 3/4'; nap roller cover to paint the walls.
no, do it with a fake sheepskin type roller..thick so it will go between the non textured parts.
If the builder sprayed texture on all of the walls in your home, and you want to repaint all of the walls, I would highly recommend purchasing a small paint sprayer. The time and effort you will save will be astounding. However, if you're only doing a few walls, then purchase some 9'; x 1 1/4'; nap Rollers, (these are especially made for textured walls).
No it's not hard, just go to your Home Depot or Loews and they sell rollers especially for painting over textured walls.
If you want to get rid of the texture you can use a 4 inch putty knife to scrape away the major portion of it to give a less defined testure and then use a large nape paint roller to paint it. If you want to keep the texture it will take alot of work painting it.

What color is a cell wall and what is the texture?

I need to draw a picture of it for a project I have in Science class. What color is a cell wall and what is the texture?
To be honest, I don't know that a cell wall has a specific color to it. If it is a plant cell, it might have a greenous tint to it under a microscope because of the chlorophyll inside the cell. However, I'm not sure if it has any particular color, a bacteria cell would have, and animal cells don't have cell walls. If looking at one under a microscope, it would depend on what type of dye you are using. I think the majority of the cell get's it coloring from the dye being used. I don't think you're teacher is probably going to be real picky about what color you make the cell wall as long as you know what it is and where it goes. I'm a science teacher and that's not something I would deduct points for. When making models of the cells, my students usually use a color like brown. green, pink, or black for the walls and membranes. As far as texture goes, that's an even more difficult question. It's made mostly of polysaccharides, but it's purpose is to provide a rigid protective covering, shape, and allow things to move in and out. Just make it look thick and tough. That's the only advice I can give. What color is a cell wall and what is the texture?

and i bet that if you were in jail, you wouldn't be on theese advice websites
if your talking about like in prison draw cement block walls with paint thats chipping off of it.
Green i would think for a plant and brown or red for a animal cell
Cell walls are rigid and waxy, they're job is to maintain shape, and keep things in the cell. They are composed of carbohydrates, mainly cellulose and polymer.

The color can vary depending on the pigmentation contained in the cell, but the only organisms with cell walls are plants and algae mainly, and usually the dominant pigment is chlorophyl, making the wall appear greenish.
well considering only plant cells have cell wall, they are green, and rough
its white from looking on the TV shows texture is probably soft or hard
Depends on the cell. Sorry i cant be any more specific. Plant cells howver, have greenish grey cell walls.
    look online
Cell membrane is actually clear when you look at it through the microscope. It's made up of phospolipids, so yes it is pretty much transparent. If you're drawing the cell including the nucleus and the cytoplasm, it would be a good idea to use different colors to distinguish the rough/smooth endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus, ribosomes, etc.
all depends but normally I have seen them being a tan or green and the texture is that of a very thick dried paint over concrete.
draw a brick wall. Kidding :0)

Uh your biology text book should have pictures and all sorts of things.. If not..go to a libary..ask the librarian to get you some biology books that actually show what a cell looks like.
    green and unevenly holed
Cell walls are transparent (or grayish), and stiff like an inflated beach ball. The chlorophyll that gives plants their green color is inside the cell, not in the cell wall.

  • How do I decoupage onto canvas so that the texture of the canvas will show through?

I'd like to be able to put a computer print-out on canvas so that it looks like it was printed on canvas in the first place- is this possible? How do I decoupage onto canvas so that the texture of the canvas will show through?
    Option 1:

Take your digital file to a printer that does large format printing on canvas. You'll b able to find a printer in the phone book. They normally also do trade show displays, and enviroment graphics.

Have them print the work on canvas with a Gicl茅e printer (This makes the ink last a long time) or a cheaper alternative if you don't care about archival quality. You can either frame the canvas or stretch it on stretcher bars. The printer might even stretch the canvas onto stretcher bars for you.

    Option 2:

Make a color copy of what ever it is you want to put on the canvas.

Get yourself some matte acrylic gel medium. and paint thin layers of it on the color copied image drying in between coats.

After you've built up a thin layer of gel medium get the paper side of the gel/paper sheet wet and carefully peel off the paper backing.

Now coat the canvas with gel medium and lay the gel medium transfer on the layer of gel medium on the canvas.

Coat more gel medium over the transfer to seal it in.

    Option 3:

You can do printable iron-on transfers if your canvas is unprimed. Be sure to coat it with a clear coat afterward. Hodge Podge or gel medium.

    Hi Joe,

I think I would place it in the PAINT.....

According to the links below and especially the latter one it is stated ';paint';....

For what your are trying to accomplish I would prefer to place in the paint instead of the primer.

The best way to look at this would be to test each theory.

In Paint.... Then in Primer..... Test on small surface and see as to which seems to be the better result.

You said it in your statement under the question, it adds to the paint. If you added it to the primer, your texture will be more subdued by the covering of the paint.

  • How do you get that drier, almost cake-like texture in Restaurant cheesecakes?

Ricotta instead of all cream cheese? How do you get that drier, almost cake-like texture in Restaurant cheesecakes?
What you are looking for is sounding like an Italian Cheesecake. And yes it uses Ricotta cheese. Try to look for a recipe for that. I think the word you were looking for is a ';dense'; cheesecake. How do you get that drier, almost cake-like texture in Restaurant cheesecakes?
why would you want your cheese cake to be dry?
NO NO NO Ricotta, I've been making restaurant syle cheesecake for many years, the key is to use a little flour or cornstarch and it will make for a more dense ';almost cake like'; cheesecake. I think the word you want to use is dense.

In most instances you could use 2-3 Tbl spoons of flour or cornstarch to achieve this. In my recipe I use 4 pks of cream cheese, a little sour cream, a little heavy cream and about 1/4 cup starch. I get great results everytime. The combination of the cream cheese, sour cream and heavy cream makes it rich and silky and the corn starch makes it slightly dense and firm, while keeping that silky/creamy texture.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

OK clearly you mis-understood what i meant when i said silky, perhaps creamy is a better word. It seems as though you are probably not very good with words used to describe certain foods. The perfect cheesecake needs to be rich, dense and creamy as it is a custard type of cake. It is NOT a REGULAR CAKE, so it will not be light and spongy like a regular cake is, it will be ';custard like'; almost like a think English pudding cake, not the american soft jello pudding, but a real english pudding that is baked in the oven. ALL cheesecakes are custard type of cakes which is why it needs to be baked in a water bath for the best texture. Perhaps you need to order a a cheese cake from Juniors restaurant here in New York City and try it. You will see what a dense, creamy, silky and rich cheesecake taste like. Do a search on google for the best cheesecake and you will see Juniors restaurant among the results. I've modeled my cheesecakes off their recipe so I know its among the best.

I hate to break it to you but a cheesecake needs to be silky, creamy, rich and dense. Silky does not equal soft, if that is what you are thinking. Silky meaning smooth, no lumps, creamy and rich.

Go to a Fabric Store and buy some 'scrunched' fabric. You can make your own. They will have patterns that you can purchase if you aren't a good seamstress.

If you want to do it with a cover that you have already, you could ask at a craft/fabric store. They may know of a technique.

Does anyone have any ideas that could help me texture my walls using plaster?

I am looking for light, not heavy texture. I want something to hide small flaws, but to look great. Something I can use for the whole house.Does anyone have any ideas that could help me texture my walls using plaster?
Just finished renting and using a texture machine -- good for orange peel texture and the like. Cost was about $80, plus the cost of materials. Clean up takes a good long time.

If you would rather just do it by hand, there are all sorts of finishes you can do. A faux Italian plaster is toweled on lightly in random directions (no more than 1/8th of an inch thick). You can put on one or two coats for the coverage and texture you want. You can also skim on joint compound and use a sponge to create an interesting texture. Or skim it on and use a special comb you can buy at a Home Improvement type place, using swirling strokes to create an interesting look.

Make sure your joint compound/plaster is not too thick -- a consistency of between cake and brownie batter is good.Does anyone have any ideas that could help me texture my walls using plaster?
If you use drywall mud add some water to it and then you can use a roller to put it on the walls then put your pattern in it.
I have used drywall mud and a small whiskbroom to texture ceiling and walls. Just spread mud on with large spatula and smooth it out evenly then take the whisk broom and start at the bottom and make a half circle making sure all bristle are touching the mud and then move to next spot and do again. It looks really nice when painted in whatever color you want and its easier to clean then popcorn effect or stippling effect!!
What I've done several times is use drywall mud. It's a cheap easy way to make mistakes or blemishes look amazing. In my kitchen I used a fairly wide drywall knife to spread the mud on. You can make it as rough or smooth as you wish. Then I painted it a mustard color and glazed with a rust-colored glaze. This is the poor-man's Venetian plaster!!!

Have fun with it. One tip, less is more. The mud, if applied too thick, will crack when drying. Some folks like that look. If you don't, just keep your layers on the thinner side.
You can do this several ways one is to purchase a drywall texture spray gun. It will allow you to choose the type of texture you like. You can also rent one of these at your local tool rental store.

I am curious to know whether it is true that males are naturally supposed to have a larger and thicker abdomen than females? Is there a difference between the shape and texture of the abdomen of males and females?
    What do you think?

Can you spray or roll on wall texture over an already painted wall?

The texture surface is way to rough in one room, plus it's painted with semi-gloss paint. I was curious if I could just re- texture the walls right over the paint? I want it smoother so I can apply wallpaper. Sanding would take forever!!Can you spray or roll on wall texture over an already painted wall?
If you want the wall smoother so you can apply wallpaper over it, I would first prime the wall with an oil primer (because it is painted in semi gloss) such as Zinsser's Coverstain or XIM 400 (provide good ventilation during and after painting).

Then you should skim coat the walls with drywall compound to smooth out the texture thus giving you a smoother wall to wallpaper over. Skim coating is the process of applying drywall compound to the entire wall. This is done by applying the compound with a broad knife of 12 '; or larger. You will probably need to skim it twice to get it smooth - allow the drywall compound to dry between coats. Sand the compound smooth. Vacuum off the dust and prime with a new construction drywall primer.

After the PVA primer has dried I would re-prime with a wall covering primer such as Zinsser's Shieldz.

You will have a smooth wall ready for wallpaper at this point. Can you spray or roll on wall texture over an already painted wall?
Yes, you can go over the paint with drywall mud but eventually you will have to do some sanding.
I'm afraid that if you don't want to sand then you are going to have to go with a rough texture wall. Try priming the wall and do a faux finish over it. I have done two of my rooms in this technique and there are great metallics out that Benjamin Moore Paint makes. Just pick up a base color and 2-3 metallics and some glaze. They have booklets, for free, that lead you through the process and you will love the rich soothing result.
you will need to use a primer on the wall to make plaster stick.

you might consider priming the wall and then applying a product that goes up like wallpaper made for flatting the wall.
Assuming the existing paint is latex you can prime over the wall with an acrylic primer/sealer like ';Gripper'; or ';Zinsser 123';, next, skim the wall with premixed drywall compound to fill the texture, sand and re-prime.

If you plan to wallpaper, applying an additional wallpaper primer like ';Shieldz'; is also a good idea.

    Best Luck!
If you want walls smooth enough to apply wallpaper, you will have to 'float' out the walls with drywall mud, sand smooth, then start your wallpaper process.

Yes, you can put drywall mud over the paint.

I currently have a vector image in Illustrator but I'm wanting to experiment with real photos as texture. I think theirs a way by exporting it into Photoshop, but I'm not sure. Any advise? How can I use a photo as texture in Illustrator?
To get your Illustrator image into Photoshop, just go to File%26gt;Place and put it on a layer by itself for greatest clarity and flexibility. You will need to render the layer (rasterize) in order to work with the blending options. Have your photographic texture on the layer directly beneath.

Gels, waxes, creams? Help! What is the best way to add texture to my hair?
i like the waxes the best just spread a little on to the tipps of your fingers and sort of pull the strands like quickly this will add textureWhat is the best way to add texture to my hair?
At that length, if you don't have any natural curl or wave, your best bet is a curling iron. You can get them with a variety of barrel widths so you can have small, tight curls or big ones. I think you can also get curling irons that put a body wave in your hair...I could be wrong though. If your hair is long enough to french braid, then you can do two french braids, one on each side of your head, in the evening before bed (make sure your hair is wet when you braid it), and then in the morning take the braids out. Voila, instant texture! I used to do that on my hair regularly. Works great.

    Good luck!
well there's a lot of things you can use. vo5 hair products is good loreal studioline is also good and shockwave hair products is also good. just go on there sites and you get the information you need..like in loreal studioline they can give you a type of hair product that can define your layered hair

How do you clean a concrete floor that's been painted with sand texture?

This is at my work- the floor is painted a light tan color, and since it has sand texture, it tears up the mop head and leaves fluff all over the floor. It is the first room customers see upon entering the building, so it needs to look good. We have runners for the walkways, but the whole floor needs to be cleaned occasionally, and I haven't figured out a good way to do it.How do you clean a concrete floor that's been painted with sand texture?
Well, it sounds like you are using a sponge mop. Try switching mops, try the Hoover Floor Mate - it washes and dries in the same step, has scrub brushes to get the floor really clean. How do you clean a concrete floor that's been painted with sand texture?
A floor buffer/scrubber that you can rent or hire a professional to do. You can also repaint the floor a darker color so you can clean it less often as the dirt will be less obvious.

  • Does adding sour cream make a cheesecake texture fluffier?

I've never added sour cream into my cheesecakes before; usually, i just whip the egg whites to make the cheesecake less dense. However, they are still denser as compared to the store bought ones. Is sour cream the reason? what can i do to make my cheesecake texture fluffier, while not compromising the taste? Thanks!Does adding sour cream make a cheesecake texture fluffier?
I personally am not familiar with putting sour cream in cheese cake, or that it would make it fluffier, but I can tell you that the products you buy at the stores/bakeries ingredients are not the same as what we use at home, the industrial ingredients used in commercial products are not the same....they use texturizers, different sugars and flours not available to the public, thus different textures and or flavors, there are sour cream cheese cake recipes on line....I would suggest to you to keep trying different cheese cake recipes until you find the one that gives you the desired texture and flavor....Does adding sour cream make a cheesecake texture fluffier?
whenever sour cream is added to anything it is always used to make whatever it being added to thicker
yes it does. it makes it lighter and have a weightless taste to it. i always add it
The sour cream is going to make it creamier. The ones that are bought at the store have all sorts of ingredients and chemicals that you just don't have access to at home. I usually whip all the ingredients in my Kitchen Aid mixer on a high setting (just high enough so that it doesn't splatter my kitchen) and incorporate as much air into it as possible. Then carefully pour it into your pan and don't shake it or bang the pan so that you keep all the air in it. You could also try adding a bit of baking powder (a teaspoon). Baking powder has a chemical reaction with water and creates little pockets of air. It's what makes your cookies and cakes rise.
yeah but dont over do it is like cream cheese
I own a bakery, and many of my cheesecakes do have sour cream in them and are fluffier and less dense because of it.

When you bake cookies how do you make the dough the correct texture?

I am trying to get the dough the right consistency. Either it is too dry and the components are not well mixed or the dough is too gooey and I can not use the cookie cutter.

How do I get the dough so it is easy for me to use the cookie cutter? When you bake cookies how do you make the dough the correct texture?
Be sure that the dough is well chilled; that does affect the consistency and if yours is too gooey it might just be too warm. You really can't take a shortcut there -- if your recipes says you need to chill two hours, four hours, etc., you can't skip that step. When you bake cookies how do you make the dough the correct texture?
    CUT OUT COOKIE DOUGH

    1/2 c. soft butter

    1 c. sugar

    2 eggs

    2 tbsp. cream or milk

    1 tsp. vanilla

    2 1/2 c. flour

    1/2 tsp. salt

    1/4 tsp. soda

Mix well butter, sugar and eggs, Stir in cream and vanilla. Sift together and stir in dry ingredients. Chill dough 4 to 5 hours or overnight. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Roll out dough a little at a time (keeping rest chilled) on well floured board. Bake 6 to 8 minutes on ungreased baking sheet. Let stand a minute before removing from baking sheet.
Rolling it in flour helps...did you follow the recipe correctly? Because adding just a little too much of one ingrediant will throw your mixture all off.
follow the instructions carefully are if they are still not working out i would say the recipe is wonky

    .
Baking is a science, unlike cooking where you can throw in a little bit of this and a little bit of that . The most important thing is to follow the directions to a ';T';. The flour amount affects how dry your cookies will be , if the taste doughy or like crackers. The sugar affects the sweetness and the color, the eggs affect the rising ond the consistency. So most baking recipes rely on every ingredient to be exactly the correct percentage to get the best tasting cookie!

So always follow the directions-if it says mix after each addition then mix after each addition, if it says ';stir'; then stir, don't beat it in a mixer.

After doing this your cookies will be better.
first make sure that all your sugars and fats are thoroughly mixed in before u add your flour if the dough is a little sticky then add a little more flour then place the dough in the fridge for about an hour after u remove the dough from the fridge place the dough on a slightly floured surface then roll out with rolling pin to desired thickness, then use your cookie cutters

How do you fix the papery texture of drywall?

I just tore up some wallpaper in my bathroom. Unfortunately I also tore up the first paper layer of the drywall as well. Now I am left with this very rough papery texture similar to ripped cardboard. I have used joint compound on some areas but don't want to use it on the entire wall. Is there anything I can use to smooth out the texture of the wall? How do you fix the papery texture of drywall?
I had the same problem on a ceiling. Here's what i did. In some areas i used joint compound to smooth the areas as best i could. Then i painted the entire area with the desired latex paint. After letting it dry thoroughly, the paper fiber edges were fairly stiff. These were sandable using a fine grit sandpaper. Sand carefully so you don't rip up new areas. The result was a very smooth surface that could then be repainted. How do you fix the papery texture of drywall?
well there isn't to much u can do if u really tore the paper down to the sheetrock but skim coat the walls with drywall compound . there are many types of compound what u need is a fast dry light wt. easy sanding compound . you will get a better finish with a couple of coats of compound.my first choice is always USG LIGHTWEIGHT COMPOUND .drys fast easy to sand its usually less than 15.00 at home depot. comes in 5 gal. bucket worth the money .

  • Do you have to spackle ceilings if you are doing to add texture?

My husband and I are finishing our addition and are completing the drywall ourselves. We plan on using texture on the ceilings, so do we have to spackle? If we have to spackle is it necessary to sand before we put the texture on? We are planning on using texture because the existing rooms already have it. It isn't the popcorn texture, it appears to be a thick material stamped on the ceiling.

if theyre any shade of brown then you can use pantene brunette shine shampoo and conditioner or f theyre blonde then the blonde version. if theyre any other colour look for a shampoo and conditioner specialy for your colour or try elvive colour protect shampoo and condition with added shine. they all make you hair feel light and silky and make it look shiny. also if you straighten it use some sort of prtective spray. also dont you leave in conditioner but if you have to then only use it once a week. i hope i helped :)

Also if you want you hair to feel really soft and conditioned next time have a full head die in a nice colour it really conditions your hair.
i dye my hair a lot i have dark hair and my most recent thing is bleaching parts of it. what i find to bring it back to being soft is shampoos and conditioner that are made for dyed hair, the color my happy by herbal Essence i also use redkins on my hair. Tresemme is my favorite, it makes my hair the softest.
Switch to Nexxus Therapy shampoo and Nexxus Humectress conditioner.

The conditioner can be used both as a rinse out or a leave-in. (I do both) Just be sure when you are putting it in for a leav-in, that you are using just a small amount through wet hair. You don't want it to attract dirt or look grubby.

How can I increase flavor and texture in meals?

I love to cook, and love experimenting with different spices in meals etc. are there any other ways of making food utterly different and textured? How can I increase flavor and texture in meals?
It definelty depends on the type of food that you are cooking. Frying with butter always adds a lot of flavor but isnt always the healthiest option. Baking is little healthier and that is when seasonings work well. If you are interested in cooking as I am, start to watch the different shows on the food network. There are many different chefs that cook a variety of different style food from Southern (paula deen) to Italian ( giada delaurentiis) ....there is a latin food show and a show with rachael ray that shows you how to cook a meal in 30 minutes! I have learned a lot about how to add ';a little of this and a pinch of that'; to make a recipe really delicious!

Have fun with it and good luck!!How can I increase flavor and texture in meals?
definately get into marinating, it makes food so much nicer, my favourite is for chicken : mix soy sauce, garlic and chilli powder together and pour over raw chicken breasts in a bowl, cover with cling film and leave in the fridge for 2 hours, then fry it in a stirfry on on the bbq (lovely)
Adding spices, herbs, flavorings, sauces, condiments, different flavor combonations, having side dishes, toppings, and using different forms of cooking like grilling, sauteeing, frying, boiling, oven roasting, etc.

    Hope that helps!
Marinating, brining or the spices you use will add excitement to your meals.
you can use different ingredients to add texture to your food, for example you can grind some nuts and crust it into a fish fillet, the nut would add crunch and also some sweetness in the fish.. don't be redundant, that's one thing i learned if you already used one spice into the meat, don't use it anymore into the other components of your meal. Try kellog's, ice cream cones, nuts, to substitute for your usual breadcrumbs, just make sure you don't repeat anything in a meal..
The following additives have excellent flavoring effect,if used at the proper quantity:

-Spices(white pepper, black pepper, Cinnamon, cardamon, coriander powder, etc.)

    -Garlic

-Olive oil, especially with pastas, spaghetti, pizza, Italian and Spanish plates.

-Oats powder for making thick soups

-Add apple juice when you make roasted meats it gives very nice flavor especially the chicken.

-Flour and skimmed milk to add thickness for white souses
What will accentuate textures and flavors are contrasts.

    e.g. soft n creamy with crispy;

    different cuts of fresh vegetables;

    sweet with tart (vinegar or citrus juices);

    yogurt and cucumber with spicy curry;

a cold course then a hot one.

Consider using cooking methods which are new to you; steam, braise, fry, roast, bake, grill, poach.

Try some exotic ingredients such as not your usual vinegars, salts, peppers, noodles, breads, fresh herbs or greens.

I really like the resource below.

Now I know there's an easy way of making something of your own like this MUCH cheaper and with a picture you want. There are glazes that you can buy that are textured. Look in scrapbooking supply shops, they usually have things like this.... also, check something like a Michael's or Dick Blick.

This is not exactly what you asked, but check out Mpix.com's print on canvas on a stretcher frame. A 20x30 poster of YOUR image costs less than $60 including shipping. Smaller sizes cost less. The thing is actually printed on canvas so the surface has a lot of texture.

I accidentally kinda like randomly picked textures (yesterday) and saved it and so on. Is there any way to bring it back to normal? How do I change a pictures texture in photoshop back to normal?
The FIRST RULE OF PHOTO EDITING: Never, Never-Ever work on the original picture.

Your first step is to open the picture. The second step is always MAKE A COPY OF IT and then close the original. To make a copy drag its layer to the copy layer icon then drag the original, the Background layer to the trashcan.

Or you can highlight the Background layer in the Layers Palette and go to Layer in the main menu and click on Duplicate, then right click on the Background layer and choose Delete.

Once you've saved and closed the photo there's no way to undo the effects you've put on it when you open it again. We all destroyed some pretty good pictures when we first started editing. Sorry.

Would you consider freezing milk and does it change the taste and texture?

We have milk on sale for $2.50 a gallon which is a great deal and I want to stock up if possible.Would you consider freezing milk and does it change the taste and texture?
I've frozen milk - it will seperate and look funny as its thawing , but give it a good stir and its fine. Don't freeze for more than 3 mthsWould you consider freezing milk and does it change the taste and texture?
My mom used to buy milk, 2 or 3 gallons at a time, don't ask me why. But she would freeze them, you just have to be sure to give them time to defrost in the fridge when running low on the current gallon. I wouldn't freeze it for more than a month though. And just stir it or shake it a bit before serving after it has thawed. Won't notice a difference, we never did in our household!
Freezing milk is good way to stock up. Homogenized separates when you defrost and you need to shake it. 2% works better when defrosted
You can freeze it, but it will change the structure somewhat. If you have kids, they probably won't be thrilled about drinking thawed milk, as it doesn't look the same.
I did it with 2% milk years ago.My kids never knew the difference. You want to drink it up and not leave it frozen longer then 2-4wks(I never did it longer then that myself).Leave it thaw in the fridge of course.
Yea, at my old work place they used to buy a few cartons of milk, freeze then use as required. Needs a good shake after thawing. It does taste a little different but it's ok if you're just adding it to teas/ coffees
You can freeze milk, what do you think ice cream is? We do it all the time. Just don't keep it frozen too long.

Is there a change in taste & texture of a defrosted fish?

How do I paint wood grain texture with acrylics?

I'm painting a border of my canvas with acrylics. I decided to use a wood grain texture, but I'm not sure how to do that. Can someone please help me? I'm new to acrylics and I really do not want to mess this up.How do I paint wood grain texture with acrylics?
Use a tick comb and run it down the wet paint letting the teeth of the comb scrape the canvas. Twist and turn slightly as you drag the comb across the canvas and this will give the impression of the wood grain.

Get a scrap of canvas and practice on that before you go to the painting. Mask off the rest of the painting so that you don't overlap the rest of the picture as you drag the comb through the wet pigments on your border.

You can try a regular hair comb as well because they can give a wider grain. Some hair combs have two sides to them, one with a wide set of teeth and the other half with a more compact set of teeth. Break the comb in two and use separately. How do I paint wood grain texture with acrylics?
Scrunched up rag pulled through wet paint should work. Experiment !
I'd be doing it the other way around, paint on a lighter basecoat, let it dry, then quickly (use a large brush) paint on a water thinned darker colour, wiping it off immediately with a rag using one long stroke.

Once you get a woodgraining rocker etc, and learn about glazing techiques you can get a better result and put in a lot more detail, but this is a good starting place for a beginner with nothing but paints, water and a rag.
Practice practice. You probably never thought to try it on some other object first?

Start with a darker wood color as a base and work the grain on to of that by covering it with a lighter color. (Though different types of wood need different approaches) You can get special tools for that but with a normal comb you can get very natural looking results. Try removing every other tooth for a wider split and angle the comb. Just drag it through the wet paint while changing the angle of the comb slightly in any direction, even almost flat on the canvas. You'll be amazed I promise you.

Here you can see the 'official' tools.

    http://paintinthetown.bizland.com/store/鈥?/a>

If you are planing on doing it more often I would suggest you get a Wood Graining Rocker. It is great fun.
First of all, I would make certain that the paint is the right consistency in order to complete the task. I always like to thin acrylics a little bit before trying a task such as this. Next, I would experiment on an old canvas or other suitable surface before starting. Experience is the best teacher in this case. Of course, you would need to start with a base color of the wood and then either lighten or darken for the wood grain. Good Luck
Faux wood grain has become a pretty established commercial technique.

If you Google: faux wood grain techniques

You will find many links that will tell you how to do it.

At it's simplest you underpaint with a light color; yellow for example. then you apply the finish color... for example a reddish-brown that is slightly transparent... they make ';combs'; that you drag through the top coat while it is wet giving you the wood grain you are looking for.

it takes a little practice but it is not too difficult.

    good luck

Would it be slow, instantly, quickly or at various rates? What rate would a porphyritic texture indicate regarding a rocks cooling history?
Various. A porphyritic texture is defined by as having two distinct grain sizes, typically aphanitic and phaneritic. By having both textures, the igneous rock is said to have cooled at two different rates, usually cools slowly (allowing for the phaneritic texture) then rapidly (creating the aphanitic texture).

Browse thru a book at the home store..some texture is sprayed, %26amp; some applied with a paint roller..It may be a little difficult to match the old texture exactly.
    Put on primer first.

Mix sand texture with water until it is same consistency as paint. Apply with fat knobby paint roller. Will splatter but it washes off hands, etc.. easily. Don't try to fully coat wall to make it same color; just want same spacing of 'bumps'.

Just put on a 'quick' coat. When dry, paint - - the paint coating is what makes the walls all same color.

How can i export a texture from Second life to my computer?

I would like to know how can i export a texture, skin or object from Second life to my pc?How can i export a texture from Second life to my computer?
You can only export a texture, and only if you have permissions on it.

Open the texture, go to File (top of your screen at left) and then choose ';Save Texture';.

If the option is greyed out, you dont have permission to save the texture to your computer.

Objects, skins, etc cannot be saved outside of SL, with the exception of a system called SecondInventory. This is still a relatively new system - I'm not sure how stable or trustworthy it is. It's not made by the makes of Second Life (Linden Lab); it's 3rd party.
