How can I increase flavor and texture in meals?

I love to cook, and love experimenting with different spices in meals etc. are there any other ways of making food utterly different and textured?How can I increase flavor and texture in meals?
It definelty depends on the type of food that you are cooking. Frying with butter always adds a lot of flavor but isnt always the healthiest option. Baking is little healthier and that is when seasonings work well. If you are interested in cooking as I am, start to watch the different shows on the food network. There are many different chefs that cook a variety of different style food from Southern (paula deen) to Italian ( giada delaurentiis) ....there is a latin food show and a show with rachael ray that shows you how to cook a meal in 30 minutes! I have learned a lot about how to add ';a little of this and a pinch of that'; to make a recipe really delicious!

Have fun with it and good luck!!How can I increase flavor and texture in meals?
definately get into marinating, it makes food so much nicer, my favourite is for chicken : mix soy sauce, garlic and chilli powder together and pour over raw chicken breasts in a bowl, cover with cling film and leave in the fridge for 2 hours, then fry it in a stirfry on on the bbq (lovely)
Adding spices, herbs, flavorings, sauces, condiments, different flavor combonations, having side dishes, toppings, and using different forms of cooking like grilling, sauteeing, frying, boiling, oven roasting, etc.

Hope that helps!
Marinating, brining or the spices you use will add excitement to your meals.
you can use different ingredients to add texture to your food, for example you can grind some nuts and crust it into a fish fillet, the nut would add crunch and also some sweetness in the fish.. don't be redundant, that's one thing i learned if you already used one spice into the meat, don't use it anymore into the other components of your meal. Try kellog's, ice cream cones, nuts, to substitute for your usual breadcrumbs, just make sure you don't repeat anything in a meal..
The following additives have excellent flavoring effect,if used at the proper quantity:

-Spices(white pepper, black pepper, Cinnamon, cardamon,coriander powder, etc.)

-Garlic

-Olive oil, especially with pastas, spaghetti, pizza, Italian and Spanish plates.

-Oats powder for making thick soups

-Add apple juice when you make roasted meats it gives very nice flavor especially the chicken.

-Flour and skimmed milk to add thickness for white souses
What will accentuate textures and flavors are contrasts.

e.g. soft n creamy with crispy;

different cuts of fresh vegetables;

sweet with tart (vinegar or citrus juices);

yogurt and cucumber with spicy curry;

a cold course then a hot one.

Consider using cooking methods which are new to you; steam, braise, fry, roast, bake, grill, poach.

Try some exotic ingredients such as not your usual vinegars, salts, peppers, noodles, breads, fresh herbs or greens.

I really like the resource below.
